Reminder for the November 7, 2017 Huntington Quilter’s Guild Meeting.
Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. The meeting starts at 7:30 pm. The hall is open a bit earlier for setup. Come by and give us a hand getting ready for the meeting.
All membership applications and dues WERE due by the October meeting. The November meeting is your last chance to renew your membership for the 2017-2018 year. If you have not renewed your membership, the Membership Application located in the membership heading on this site. Print it out, fill it out and bring it and your dues with you to the meeting. If for some reason you cannot attend this month’s meeting, please mail your application and membership fee to the Membership Committee’s Sue B. Her address on the bottom of the membership form.
If you do not renew by this meeting, your name will be removed from the roster and you will not receive our updates or Newsletter. Renewing your membership entitles you to attend our meetings, and the many other benefits we all enjoy!
The Raffle Quilt – Raffle tickets are due from all members by the November meeting. All members are required to sell or purchase four (4) raffle ticket books. This is a requirement of your membership. If you haven’t already done so, please bring in your SOLD raffle tickets to the November meeting. The quilt will be raffled off at our December holiday party. Karen will have additional tickets if you need any. Please turn in your sold ticket at this meeting.
November Meeting Programs:
The Scissor Man will be in the parking lot on that night! Bring in your scissors and garden tools and knives for him to sharpen! Average price for a pair of scissors was around $7 or $8 last year. Please bring cash to pay the Scissor Man.
We have a guest speaker, Erin Underwood at that meeting who will be talking about her quilt journey. She is the one who will be teaching the Tuffet class on December 9, 2017 at the Centerport Methodist church – our old meeting spot. We still have a few openings for the class but they need to bring their check to the November meeting for $60 (supply costs are additional). It’s first come first serve. I have attached the supply lists for the square, or round tuffet.
We are also collecting checks for Michele Renee Hyatt’s class in January. She will be doing Jenn’s Journey. That will be held at our usual meeting spot in January.
Don’t forget about the “hohl” challenge!! Quilts are due at the January 2018 meeting. It’s not that far off!
Honey Bee Raffle: We are looking for a Chairperson for this committee. It’s a wonderful undertaking that you could share with a few friends. We really need someone to step up and take on this project.
We want to do a Christmas ornament exchange again. A hand-made ornament any type. Bring it with you to the Holiday Party in December.
The Membership Fat Quarter Raffle will be HOLIDAY! Bring in your best Holiday fat quarter and have a chance to win!
Try and remember to wear your name tag! You will be entered into a raffle at the door when you enter if you have your name proudly displayed!
