Please allow me to be one of the first to wish all of you a very Happy New Year! Let’s make 2019 a Year to Quilt! Make a resolution to do more quilting!
Now for the original purpose of this notice.
The January 8, 2019 Meeting Reminder –
PRESIDENT – Michelina Maguire….Don’t forget the President’s challenge!! We ONLY have 6 months left to complete the project!! The four seasons. 4-10 inch squares showing the four seasons in any direction you choose. Across, down or two on the top and two below.
MEMBERSHIP – Janice and Sue….Our Fat Quarter theme for January is plaids.
HOSPITALITY – Joan and Barbara….Members will be contacted by the committee via postcard to bring in desserts for the meeting.
BLOCK OF THE MONTH – Karen and Barbara….We hope you have time now to finish up your House Blocks with your winter scene picture windows and the Mug Blocks using your beautiful floral fabrics for your favorite mugs. Please bring your finished blocks to our January meeting. These are quick and easy 6 1/2″ blocks. We are making 4 (or more) of each to be handed in and raffled off to a BOM participating quilter. Attached are instructions and pictures.
PROGRAMS – Jean, Alyson and Liz….We have reserved Saturday, January 5th as a UFO/free sew day at Christ Lutheran Church from 9-4. The group’s power strips and irons will be available. Bring your own lunch and beverages.
PRO BONO QUILTS – Debbie and Lorraine….Wow! another year has gone by can you believe it!!!!! At Huntington Quilters the January 8th 2019 meeting is our PRO BONO night. I will be bringing enveloped quilts for the membership to close, tie and attach labels.
Please bring the following sewing items that night. General sewing supplies, scissors, needle and thread and if you have LARGE EYE needles to tie quilts with. The larger the better.
A few of you may bring your sewing machines to envelope quilts if we finish the ones I am bringing. I will also have more kits available to take home and work on during the cold snowy days of January. Happy New Year everyone. See you January 8th.
2019 RAFFLE QUILT- Kathy K….We are already busy working on the Raffle Quilt for 2019. Packets for the quilt blocks will be distributed to the members for assistance in assembly. Please stop by the table and pick up a block packet or two. Looking forward to seeing our latest Raffle Quilt.
BOOK RAFFLE – Lucille, Laura and Kathy….Tickets for the book raffle are 3 for $1.00. Drop by the table and see our fantastic books and try your luck. Thanks again for your support!
OPERATION VERONICA – Lucille & Gilma….Thank you to all the Guild members for your generous donations in support of Operation Veronica! To date we have collected 82 pillowcases. A special thanks to Brigitte M. and the North Fork Quilters from the ELIQG who made 15 pillowcases to donate to Operation Veronica! All donations are greatly appreciated.
FOOD PANTRY….Please remember to support the food pantry at the Church. We can always remembers those less fortunate than us, especially at this time of year!
