Weekend Quilt Retreat

Huntington Quilters offers two annual retreats – one in November and one in April.

Retreat dates for the September 2017 – June 2018 year are:

Friday, November 3rd – Sunday, November 5th – No space available.

Friday, April 13th – Sunday, April 15th – Sign ups for the April retreat will begin at the September meeting – 25 spaces available.

This retreat is for members who are interested in spending an entire weekend quilting, quilting, and quilting.  Each participant works on their own project and is of course required to bring their own sewing machines and supplies.

The guild provides space for cutting and ironing, and provide a few design walls that are shared.  There of course is a lot of chatting and sharing that takes place.

The retreats are held at Quinipet Camp and Retreat Center in Shelter Island Heights, NY.

The cost of the retreat, which includes two nights of lodging and five meals, is $175.00 per person.   Payment is due within two months of signing up.

Sleeping arrangements are doubles and triples – lower part of bunks only – with shared bath facilities.  We reserve two of the houses at the retreat center, Asbury (which is a two story house) and Bobilin.

All questions should be directed to Lucie Blohm at Lbee47@msn.com.

Our weekend quilt retreats started in 2010 and remain one of the most highly anticipated guild gatherings of the year, so be sure to sign up as space is limited.  Members enjoy a weekend of friendship, fun and non-stop, guilt-free quilting (no pesky household to-do lists hanging nearby), complete with delicious meals!

Twenty eight members gathered April 8, 9, and 10 at Quilt Retreat on Shelter Island!  We had a wonderful time, and the projects we worked on were all beautiful.

And a good time was had by al!

Nineteen guild members attended the 2012 Quilt Retreat on April 13-15th at Quinipet Retreat House, Shelter Island, NY.  The fabulous weather and beachfront setting made staying inside a challenge, but we’re told there was ample time to enjoy both nature walks and tackling a few UFO’s.
